Tracy Ochester, PsyD, RYT

Dr. Ochester is a licensed psychologist in Missouri and Kansas, a Qualified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Teacher, a mindfulness coach, and a registered yoga teacher.

She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology’s APA approved Psy.D. program and her masters of science degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Kentucky University.

Mindfulness practices are an important part of Dr. Ochester’s work and personal life. She completed both the foundational and advanced teacher training intensives in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) through the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, a program of the UC San Diego Center for Integrative Medicine and Department of Psychiatry. She was mentored in the delivery of MBCT by a senior faculty member from the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Ochester earned her MBCT teacher qualification from the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute. She has completed courses in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Self-Compassion.

Dr. Ochester understands the importance of the mind-body connection. She earned her 200 hour yoga teacher registration (RYT) from Emily Darling and Christy Burnette at Darling Yoga, her 40 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Kathleen Kastner, and her 18 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Internship certificate from Lisa Ash at Maya Yoga.

In addition to her independent psychology practice, Dr. Ochester is a mindfulness coach at Clear Mind Open Heart, LLC. She occasionally teaches at the university level and supervises aspiring psychologists.  She manages a mental health resource list and a holistic wellness resource list for the Kansas City Metro. Through her coaching practice she teaches mindfulness meditation, mindful self compassion, and mindful yoga to the community.
