Tracy Ochester, PsyD

Dr. Tracy Ochester is a licensed psychologist in private practice in the Kansas City metro, Certified Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Teacher and UCSD MBPTI approved Mentor, a Trained Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention Teacher, and a Registered Yoga Teacher. She also serves as the Heart-Mind Coordinator for the Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness, a nonsectarian community supporting the practice of mindfulness in the heartland.

Dr. Ochester received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Wright State University School of Professional Psychology’s APA approved Psy.D. program and her masters of science degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Kentucky University.

Mindfulness practices are an important part of Dr. Ochester’s work and personal life. She is a graduate of the UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute and completed all requirements to become fully certified teacher of the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy program including both the foundational and advanced teacher training intensives and mentoring by senior faculty from the Centre for Mindfulness Studies in Toronto, Canada. She is a trained Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention teacher, she has completed and co-teaches courses in Mindful Self-Compassion, and she completed courses in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Compassion Cultivation Training.

Dr. Ochester understands the importance of the mind-body connection. She earned a 200 hour yoga teacher registration (RYT) from Emily Darling and Christy Burnette at Darling Yoga, 40 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training certificate from Kathleen Kastner, 18 hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Internship certificate from Lisa Ash at Maya Yoga, 14 hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training with Street Yoga, and 24 hour Ashtanga Yoga for Addictions training with the Trini Foundation.
